Six: The Musical

I meant to post this a week ago, but time (and writing!) got away from me. Being new at this writing thing (well, the publishing part of it, not the writing part of it) has been a learning experience, but a fun one so far!

But this post has nothing to do with the writing, just a few pictures from when my husband and I went to see Six: The Musical last week. It was a fabulous date night, not just because the music and the show were fantastic, but my husband and I drew nasty stares from couples older than us (and we’re not spring chickens!) for our public displays of affection. Ladies, find you a man who isn’t afraid to put his hands on you in public and show the world that you’re his. I don’t have any of him that he wanted me to share, and, as always, consent is important.

If you’re not familiar with Six, it’s a pop concert where the band is comprised of Henry VIII’s six wives. They’re competing for the spot of lead singer and the criteria for that is whose life was the worst while being married to him. It’s wonderful, especially if you like the time period (as I do), and there’s a pretty good fuck you at the end as well, which I also appreciated!

The creative arts are a blessing to us all and we should support them in all their venues, if possible, whether that’s buying books, seeing musicals, going to art shows, concerts, or by supporting your local libraries with donations, attending wine and paint nights held by local painters, or open mic poetry nights at your local coffee shop.
